Another Day, Another Celebration

Happy International Women's Day to all makcik and cik bloggers & non bloggers all around the world !!!

This morning I went to a breakfast party in the sports City , 20 minutes taxi ride from my house. This party was organized by my malaysian-married-arab friend, Lynn at her house and was only for ladies. It was such a small gathering with 9 of us all together including 6 malaysians( 3 got married to pak arabs ) , an american and two britons.

It was just a coincidence the party took place on this special day for all women in this entire world.

We had a wonderful time together....chatting and eating all morning. Lynn had prepared nasi goreng kampung , roti canai, cokodok pisang ,blueberry pie , saadah the american lady brought lemon and coffee cakes, I brought fruit cocktail caramel, badariah a malaysian lady who also married an arab brought cinnamon rolls and fatimah another malaysian brought some oranges.

What a heavy breakfast we had this morning!!

Out of 9 , 4 of us used to study and stay in the US , so we talked more about our life there and how we miss all the fun time we had long time ago . 3 of us even got married while studying in the states including me but the other two were married to jordanians and that's why they are now residing in Jordan. They could speak arabic fluently after staying here for more than 5-13 years.Their children can only speak arabic and english. They can't speak any malay...well , not in use why bother to learn, right ???

As usual we discussed some matters related to women's life nowadays and it was so unfortunate that one of the ladies told us that her husband got married to another lady back in the US and now she's such in a terrible state because she couldn't get her visa to get into the US and she's stranded here in Jordan. How sad and sorrow to hear all those heart-breaking story. I knew her husband was still in the US but the thing that I didn't know was that her hubby was married to another american which according to the american law, a man must divorce her first wife in order to marry another one.Even though according to Islam he is still her husband but what bothered me... the husband must have signed a divorce paper before he married another lady. It was so complicated but i only pray that my friend will have the authority to keep her children with her (OMG ...could it be possible coz all the kids are flying to the US next week !!)

Back to the party.....we kissed goodbye at 1pm and hope to have another party in the near future , InsyaAllah.

To all my sisters in Islam I do pray for our well-being and may the women's day bring joy into our life, InsyaAllah.

(sorry , no photos coz most of us took-off our hijabs/purdah at the party!!)

Yeah, pity that lady. Was she born Muslim or convert? If convert, I hope she wouldn't lose her faith.

Their children can only speak arabic and english. They can't speak any malay...<-- such a waste. what is about being a malay if u can't speak or understand malay. ye tak? we shud always proud of our root... :)

p/s: saya mmg teringin nak belajar bahasa urdu n tamil sbb those two languages are my grandfathers' punye mother tongue. tapi takde opportunity. :(

jhaz....... bahasa adalah untuk kegunaan seharian...logiklah jika hanya tahu bahasa setempat.. well masing-masing punya philosophy....

semalam pun ada my friend yang ayah dia pakistani and mother dia indian tapi parents dia tak ajar langsung those two mother tongue languages, so she ends up tahu malay and english.
