Goodbye Dead Sea !!!!!!!

I have been to Laut Mati / Dead Sea for a number of time but I never set my foot or even touched the salty sea water before…never… don’t know why… each time I went there I felt a bit detested knowing the history of the Dead Sea…sometimes I felt so touched and sad by the fact that almost all people of Sodom and Ghomorra tribes were folded and blended deadly in this saltiest sea / lake after they refused to give up their disgusting habit, act of HOMOSEXUALITY…..

Why is it Called the Dead Sea?

Sounds kinda creepy, doesn't it? It's called the Dead Sea because nothing lives in it. It is some of the saltiest water anywhere in the world, almost six times as salty as the ocean! The Dead Sea is completely landlocked and it gets saltier with increasing depth. The surface, fed by the River Jordan, is the least saline. Down to about 130 feet (40 meters), the seawater comprises about 300 grams of salt per kilogram of seawater. That's about ten times the salinity of the oceans.

There's no seaweed or plants of any kind in or around the water. There are no fish or any kind of swimming, squirming creatures living in or near the water. As a matter of fact, what you'll see on the shores of the Sea is white, crystals of salt covering EVERYTHING. And this is no ordinary table salt, either.

The salts found in the Dead Sea are mineral salts, just like you find in the oceans of the world, only in extreme concentrations. The water in the Dead Sea is deadly to living things. Fish accidentally swimming into the waters from one of the several freshwater streams that feed the Sea are killed instantly, their bodies quickly coated with a preserving layer of salt crystals and then tossed onto shore by the wind and waves.

I've said to myself that before leaving Jordan, I would touch and at least sit in the water and so I did it last Thursday...

I never thought it would be hard to step foot in the water...it's so painful to step on the sharp pebbles found in the water and the muddy slimy soil in the water made me yell for a few times, trying to avoid those pointed and sharp pebbles... I just sat in the water for a few minutes and it was surely very salty... Izzat, mimi and sofie were yelling and shouting and rushing to the shower after their eyes were splashed by the salty water....

It's not an enjoyable experience.... I should have worn my sandals/shoes.

I ' ll remember this moment for the rest of my life..... leaving the Dead Sea with a mix feeling.... happy to have been able to touch the water but at the same time feeling so sad to still remember the severe punishment by God to the unbelievers.....

Goodbye Dead Sea !!!!!!!!!!!!

Salam.

MasyaAllah. Tinggalan sejarah yang sangat nyata. Itupun mereka masih menidakkan kebenaran. I pun gamaknya kalau sampai di situ akan teragak-agak nak jejak-kan kaki. Tapi, kalau dah nak tinggalkan tempat tu, akan jejak-kan kaki jugak macam you.

Tak sempat nak thank u for your Badui N3. Informative... Still macam tak caya, they all masih hidup pindah randah ni.

Well, at least U dah sampai jejak kaki kat Laut Mati... Air dia kalau termasuk mata sure pedih tu..

Air dia bukan masin lagi...dah jadi tahap pahit dah...

selama duduk jordan, baru kali lepas masa jalan2 dgn razzi n sagol, baru saya sempat bermandi manda dalam air laut tu...pedihnya tak terkira...kalau kulit melecet lagi la pediss...kalau masuk mata, boleh tahan lagi, sebab air mata boleh tlg cucikan...

saya ingat lumur lumpur boleh putihkan kulit, nmpknya tidak. setakat buang kulit mati je...hihi...tapi best, gatal2 di muka yang saya hidapi setiap soifi telah pulih lepas saya genyeh lumpur tu di muka banyak kali...licin kulit i, selembut sutera...hahahaha....

Satu lagi, kita takleh mandi lama2 bawah shower, nanti petugasnya marah..hihihi...dia marah sebab air kat jordan tak cukup...

Kak Rina,
Mengikut orang tua2, kalau ada penyakit kulit, mandi laut, cepat sembuh. Tapi Cath asyik ter'minum' air laut setiap kali mandi laut. Buat malu aje depan anak2. LOL!
